Some classic multi channel tracker music

There are some of the best tracker music that's sticks out and even time itself can not age them...that well :)

These are different, they are classics using multi-tracks, so more than 4 channels. There are some better ones out now, but I think that these are classics because they were made when the technology first came out and the musicians jumped in, and just ran with it.

I have to mention though Guardian Dragon 2. If you look that up on YouTube then that is awesome music. It is in 4 channels and made around 92-94...and that plus Desert Dream are my fave tracker music of all time.

I have given the links to the computer music downloads, you just have to click on the link to download the track you want, then unzip into a preferred folder, then load them up into FT2, and have a play with what's on offer. I have also included on this page a small description of each file so you know what to expect.

Keith303- Amphetamine, Anxiety Express, Sulphate Supremacy.
Keith303 is a top German musician, and is an extremely talented individual. He takes tracker music one step further each time. Download all those tracks (Sulphate is very Aphex Twin, harsh but cool, and the end strings are great). Amphetamine is like Hardfloor, but...just cool.

Radix and Lluvia- Colours.
A very cool song with great phat beats but an equally cool chord structure running through the song. Great samples, and a good use of commands.

Heatseeker- Lunar Explosion, Magic Earth.
While I am writing this, I am listening to lunar explosion. Both offer totally top soft rave with great 303 filters. A French artist that is always evolving his tunes so they never bore- the Asian chant in lunar is just great.

Awesome- Breath of Fire, Oxygene 9, Just 2.
Awesome is just as his name states. Oxygene is a fantastic remix, BoF is a clever synth pop, dance epic that uses some great sounds. Just 2 is a great emotional trip using some great piano and strings.

Nomad- Café Del Mar Remix.
I love Café Del Mar, I do, and it is pleasing to hear a really respectable tracker music version of it that gets it nigh on perfect.

Probe- Over 2.
I like this track a lot. It is really harsh sounding, 303 pounding, using strange sounds that keep you constantly interested...and its catchy.

Beathawk & Chavez- Ketchup and Dress up.
A top drum n' bass track, the filtered synth lines at the end really top it off.

Elwood- Afterhours, Little Man, Stompin' Little Scouts (mp3- non playable with FT2) .
I think Elwood is great, 90% of his tracks are cool. They are rapid dance tracks incorporating many, many multi-hooks (just like keith303), and are great. Stompin' Little Scouts- is widely recognised as a killer dance track, so it deserves special mention even though it is an MP3.

Falcon- Luv U, Ma' Eyez Wide Open..
Top tracks from a top musician. Slow, almost R'n'B tracks, but dancey and catchy- he has his own style, with some great samples.

Cube!-Gherkins and A Rhubarb.
Great dance, heavy on the filters (from a Nordlead) and good use of C64 samples.

Nighthawk- Last Sunset.
Pop with great clean samples and a very professional track. This is Nighthawk- clean, professional and catchy.

Teque and Purple Motion- Final Reality Music
Made for a demonstration, so it is made up in parts. Mainly industrial dance (Teque worked on the music for Unreal Tournament), it is a complicated, clever and a very good track.

Slice- Inside My Insanity.
Slice was one of the first to use the Roland 303 samples exclusively in his tracks, and he has become synonymous with the machine. This track is a great dance tune, and has loads of 303 samples.

All the above tracker music have one thing in common though- multi-hooks. Every part, every section of the track is designed to be generally appealing, while broken down, the track could still work well. Take any artist, and you will find their base, their strings, any compartment can be played by itself, and still be catchy.
