Creating A Facebook Event
Creating a Facebook event is one thing you should really do if you are a musician. Why? Because you can attract like minded people to your music gigs. So how do you create one?
1. One the right-hand side of your group profile you will find a navigation list. Now click on “create a related event”.
2. This is now where you fill out the details of the event- your event name. Now you want this to be as simple as possible and must tell people exactly what you are planning to do..
3. Choose the network that you’ll select your invitees from later on. Setting to “global” will mean that everyone on Facebook will see it.
4. Now put in a description of the event. Make it something that people will want to come along to, giving benefits, and make people want to come. Offer bribes, free stuff even humour.
5. Put in the time and date and with a rough end time. State the venue name and address. Facebook automatically creates a map.
6. Because you created the event you need to give either your telephone number or email address out so people can reach you if they have any questions. Be careful if you give out a phone number.
7. “Options” allows your guests to bring friends, show the guest list, allow wall postings and photo uploads of the event.
8. An “open” event means that anyone can see the event, invite themselves and add themselves to the guest list. “Closed” will only show uninvited guests the description and time of the event and they will need submission to the group to see the rest. “Secret” means that the event is only available to those who you invited and will not be shown through the search engine.
9. Create the event
10. Now you can upload a picture to appear on the invite. Now continue.
11. “Guest list” you can invite the whole group, or invite individual. Once done click on the “send invitation mails”.
12. All done. However be careful on who you invite. There has been many people in the news who have had parties and invited their Facebook friends and then they told others etc and then the house where the party was held got wreaked.
