TechnoLite Ezine, Issue #002
December 01, 2005
Hi

Wow, what an updating month I have had.

First there has been the creation of the MP3 Zone. Finding the best free MP3 sites on the net, and the best cheapest legal MP3 sites on the net. There was also a very small link, that was only on a few pages to show you how to make your own MP3s (using free utilities of course). Also telling you why you should (great free marketing).

I am also finding and trying out new utilities on the MP3 subject, so future updates promised.

Then, phew, there was the creation of the Ringtone Zone. This ringtone thing is especially important to the musician as a marketing tool, as the pages state, the cheap downloading and and hosting of your ringtones is better and quicker than downloading an MP3. If they like your tunes, then they will get the MP3, and vice versa. The Polyphonic Wizard that is on the page as a free trail software download is really easy to use. I would also like to add that once downloaded it has a seven day time limit (but can be uninstalled ;).

There are a few more mini updates in the works for December, and two large Zone which will be released through the ezine first then onto the site, around December January time. One main one is the use of free loops and samples.

Tip: If you go onto a Sample CD site, or a sound machine manufacturers website they have demonstrations of the products. These demos always have singular hits, or single loops- obviously they are showing off the equipment- but they are a great source of sounds (all cut up and some have great effects added). How about sample some of those sounds. A company like Time and Space offer MP3 downloads of the demo tunes from the instruments or CDs, just convert into a WAV from the MP3 and then chop up the sounds to your spec. Easy.

There are going to be new free software updates in the future. For a tester, here are some that (apart from Rebirth which is great) have not appeared on the site, and won't for another month or two. Free software, and have a play around.

Rebirth started the whole "softsyth" idea off and included such a wonderful layout and similarities to the original Roland 909 and 303s (from which it is based on) that it was a smash hit.

Rubberduck and Drumstation are based (again) on the classic 909 drum machine and the 303 bass/ squelch machine. Need to be used on a pre-XP machine.

Analog Warfare is a bass synth that will produce some meaty bass sounds, and you can tweak some of their presets.
